At LOYALTY CU, we want to encourage our young members to start saving and learning the importance of managing their money. There’s no better way to teach children how to save and manage their money than having them manage their own Youth Savings Accounts.

Our Youth Savings Account Options

LOYALTY CU is proud to offer Youth Savings Accounts for those of you who want your children to get a head start on learning financial responsibility. We offer the following youth accounts:

Youth Savings Accounts

This account is perfect for children from infancy to eight years of age to begin saving money. All you need to open an account is $5. When your child opens a Youth Savings Account, they receive a piggy bank (given out at account opening), quarterly paid dividends and a free coin counter. 

Children aged ten years and under enjoy exploring finances with Sammie, the Saving Scottie, through a series of animated videos as he learns the basics of money management: CLIMB financial literacy program. 

We also offer another type of Youth Savings Account that is perfect for children ages nine to seventeen. This account gives your child the opportunity to learn by observing how saving for big-ticket items can be fun and easy! All it takes to open our Future Leader Savings Account is $5. 

With our Youth Savings Account, your child will receive quarterly paid dividends, a free coin counter, and financial education.

Youth Checking Accounts

Our Youth Checking Account is for teenagers ages fifteen to seventeen, and it helps them learn how to manage money responsibly. A parent or guardian must be listed on your child's Future Leader Checking Account. 

Upon opening a Youth Checking Account, your teen will receive: 

  • Visa Debit Card

  • Cents-to-savings (Save while using your debit card)

  • E-branch featuring LOYALTY CU’s mobile app with mobile deposit

  • No monthly service charges

  • Free coin counter

  • Financial education
